About the Luling Golf Course

The nine hole Luling Golf Course was designed by Edgar B. Davis and gifted to the community of Luling. The course opened for play in 1926. Covering 23 acres, this 9-hole pecan shaded course lies alongside the San Marcos River.

Unlike many other municipal golf courses, our golf course is managed by a non-profit named the Luling Golf Association. The hard-working Luling Golf Association, a nonprofit comprised of citizen members, operates and manages the day-to-day operations of Luling Golf Course. The goal of the LGA is to continue improving the golf course and updating its infrastructure so the course will serve the community in the years to come.

In recent years, this area of our city has seen major improvements with the development of the Zedler Mill Events Center, Museum and a large recreational park as well as Texas’ First Inland Paddling Trail on the scenic San Marcos River.

Smaller golf courses such as Luling’s add much to the quality of life in a small town. Luling’s golf course serves a dual community purpose as a beautiful open space that is also used as a recreational facility. Golf courses attract people who may want to retire, or live here. Located off Interstate 10 at the southern entrance to our town, our humble municipal course is one of the first things visitors see and it greatly impacts their perception of our town.
